I am a member of the Math Working Group.  The Ministry of Education’s Student Achievement Division brought together a Mathematics Teaching and Learning Working Group in September 2010 to identify what it would take to bring greater depth and coherence to the K-12 mathematics program.  This group is made up of experts in mathematics pedagogy, curriculum and research, and includes members from the Ministry, district school boards, federations, professional associations and universities.

This publication shares the seven foundational principles from the work to date of the Mathematics Working Group.  These principles will serve as a guide for planning and implementing improvements in mathematics teaching and learning.
